PARTE I

HOW TO GET ONTO A GONDOLA FOR ONLY 50 CENTS

If you are a student or are on a tight budget which does not allow you the luxury of taking a gondola ride, donít worry!

The gondoliers still offer you the chance of a being able to experience, even if only fleetingly, the emotions of crossing the Grand Canal at various points in a gondola and for only 50 cents!

There are only 6 of these points still left in the city, and of these, I will suggest the more picturesque:

1) the traghetto that connects San Barnaba to San Samuele (Palazzo Grassi) is open everyday, except Sundays and holidays, from 8:00am to 1:00 pm.

2) the traghetto that connects the church of San Marcuola to the Fontego dei Turchi (Museum of Natural History) is open everyday except Sundays and holidays, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

3) the traghetto that connects Santa Maria del Giglio to San Gregorio (Basilica of the Salute) is open every day, except Sundays and holidays, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
