Generally, the death of a loved one, usually occupies you in many bureaucratic papers and other unforeseeable tasks that you will not easily find the serenity required to personally occupy yourself with choosing a funeral gondola.

The easiest way of obtaining this service, always less requested, is by asking the funeral parlour who in turn will make the arrangements for you and contact a gondola for this service.

You can even do it yourself by asking one of the various traghetti, but by law, you should refer to the traghetto in whose territory the church where the funeral takes place, lies. In any case, a minimum of 4 gondoliers are required as it means transporting the coffin from the church to the burial place, usually the cemetary island of San Michele.

Generally the price, also negotiable for this service, is around 800 euros (august 2005) flowers excluded.
